As I drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway, I’m met with a heart-wrenching scene: entire towns wiped off the map, buildings submerged, and highways destroyed. The devastation is not limited to coastal areas; Western NC, TN, and SC are bearing the brunt of climate change’s fury.

This is not a partisan issue, it’s a matter of science and survival. Fossil fuels are destroying our planet, and our poorly maintained infrastructure is exacerbating the problem.

It’s time to stop denying the reality of climate change and start taking action. We need to invest in clean energy, upgrade our infrastructure, and adapt to the new normal of extreme weather events.

I urge you to put aside your political beliefs and listen to the science. Climate change is not a conspiracy theory; it’s a reality that’s already affecting our communities.
